Trying to install nodejs + npm from repository under openSUSE 13.1 give zypper in nodejs-0.12.5-69.1.x86_64 npm Loading repository data... Reading installed packages... Resolving package dependencies... Problem: nothing provides npm(request) < 2.58 needed by npm-2.11.2-13.1.noarch Solution 1: do not install npm-2.11.2-13.1.noarch Solution 2: break npm-2.11.2-13.1.noarch by ignoring some of its dependencies Choose from above solutions by number or cancel 1/2/c: (on openSUSE 13.1) If I fork nodejs, and simply enable the npm build we don't have any issue. last npm will always be available in last nodejs why complicated things ? so the source are already there. Why not to try to package a separate npm from the nodejs.spec ?
