Comment # 3 on bug 1001660 from Axel Braun

After upgrade to RC1 the situation has improved - desktop remains responsive
and it can be switched between applications. Shutdown via Menu still does not
work - has to be done from command line.
I have no idea how to use gdb, can you provide a link to explain?
