This seem to be sorted out on leap/Tumbleweed. Even tho it still tries to open the swp in the folder where it works it seem to fallback and not store garbage. Could you please test it too and reopen if it still happens? scarabeus@bugaboo: /usr/local/bin $ kate -n test Attempted to re-run an already running session. QIODevice::write (QFile, "/usr/local/bin/.test.kate-swp"): device not open Note: it still breaks the back/forward buttons so it should be fixed by upstream to use /tmp/kde-<user>/ for file caches.
