I just found https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=355684. According to this the images are there, but each pixel's alpha channel is set to 100% transparency. Can someone please try the new xembed-sni-proxy package from here? http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/wolfi323:/test/openSUSE_Leap_42.1/ I added the "patch" from comment#2 of that bug report. This is not a proper fix, it practically just disables transparency completely. But it should show whether this is indeed the problem... Btw, that bug report also seems to indicate that the problem might be related to the graphics driver somehow. The reporter says it works fine on an intel machine, but the icons are transparent with nvidia/nouveau. My two 13.2 systems where everything works fine use intel and radeon, I could only reproduce this with Leap in vmware (haven't tried other versions yet though). So maybe it is not at all specific to Leap?
