There is another aspect to this 42.2 bug. If I use Nvidia instead of Nouveau, the missing scrollbar, text boxes etc are ok and remain ok. But if I "Suspend" then return, the names under the desktop icons are corrupted. To fix that problem, changing the desktop configuration from "Folder View" to "Desktop View" and back again fixes all the icon names even if I suspend again. But if I reboot, the problem returns.
