Michael Before I alter a file, I like to make a backup of the file. The new os-prober reads any and all backups of the os-prober file. I renamed the file xxx and os-prober added it's contents to the grub2 menu. The user must create another folder in the /etc/grub.d/ directory to stop it from reading the os-prober.orig or xxx file. Or rename it ~ in the same directory to stop the file from being read.
