The task is -- update the kernel of system A.

What does this involves:
a) updating entry in grub of system A
b) (a) + wiping out all other systems

?

It is so wrong, that I am surprised it is not obvious, and honestly I cannot
come up with better arguments :-)

The first principle should be (IMHO) don't do damage to data, and this exactly
what happened here. At some point of time user crafted his/her boot up menu, no
good, it goes to trash now (without even asking if it is OK to remove other
entries).
