With the latest update bringing TW to version 20240503 emacs crashes under KDE
X11.

If I use emacs-x11 then emacs is happy. Prior to the update all was fine and I
was just using emacs which worked just fine.

X protocol error: BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation) on
protocol request 91
Serial no: 736

When compiled with GTK, Emacs cannot recover from X disconnects.
This is a GTK bug: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gtk/issues/221
