Sorry for replying so late. 

I have to admit that I lost track of the problem _and_ supposed solutions,
therefore I was hesitant to step in.

To me this sounds like a problem on some specific hardware (HDMI audio works
fine for me on multiple laptops and desktops) and therefore not something that
should be covered by the official documentation, but rather the Wiki (openSUSE)
or the knowledge database (SLE).
But maybe I just lost the point and am completely off target here...
