Comment # 3 on bug 1058413 from David Walker

Any advice here?  I've retreated to 42.2, so it'd be nice to find a fix before
it loses support...

I notice that I didn't attach alsa-info from 42.2,so I will do that now.  I
notice the following dmesg messages for 42.3 that don't appear in 42.2:
