Hmm. So I guess this is again *without* "WaylandEnable=false" in /etc/gdm/custom.conf, right? Can you confirm this? So running gdm itself on Wayland and then running the GNOME session on top of X.Org appears to work for you - for whatever reasons. I guess we can then close the issue then, since this is what people will try, if GNOME on Wayland does not work.
