With reference to a comment made by Richard Harris at osc16: yes, Leap 42.1
was, sadly, initially a KDE disaster.

So, what can testers do to help avoid the same situation with Leap 42.2?

releases . . .

If the delivery schedule of the KDE components is not early enough for Beta
testing to find the things which will annoy the user community then, there is a
danger that, the Leap 42.2 release will not be well received.

The worst thing that can happen is, that the Kontact user community will remain
with the KDE4 Plasma version (despite the occasional segment faults when the
mail archive runs).
