But the error persists when waiting for the timeout (finish of the progress
bar, lower part of picture Boot-sequence-#3). As long as users don't know they
_have_ to move the selection at least one line down...

Suggestion: Set the grub2 default entry to the second line (the one with the
actual boot entry). Additionally you might highlight the first line with blue
background or red characters or whatever and prepend "Snapshot to be booted,
don't select this entry" or some such information.
