I had a brainstorm...

And resolved the problem after embarrassing myself.

It turns out that I had NetworkManager installed from Lemmy repository (Version
1.6.2 which is something I did not expect. I replaced NetworkManager with the
version from the official openSuse repoistory and everything works the way its
supposed to.
