Thanks Dominique for chasing this down. Actually I'm not sure... "systemctl show" is supposed to be scriptable and such change seems inappropriate now (even if it's better to return a failure in this case). I asked to upstream here: https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/5118. Let's wait for an answer before taking any action.
