I indicated that I have a maximum bandwidth of 40Mb/s. If that is being reached
is unknown. I just tried it with Firefox and I am getting the same speed. So
in my case with a single file of 430Mb I have both Firefox and Chromium taking
the same time.

I have no idea what internet connectivity Google would have, but I believe this
is way faster than 100Mbps (more likely in the Gbps). And yes, you would be
correct if I would have a direct connection with Google. However who knows how
my the traffic to Google is traveling. Maybe it goes first via Russia to Asia
and then to the US. This is the internet where traffic is never traveling in a
direct line (point to point). So the weakest link determines the actually speed
you are receiving.

I tried about 230 files of around 100Kb and they were uploaded within a minute
