Following the instructions from: http://kernel.opensuse.org/packages/openSUSE-13.1 The old kernel seems to install correctly, however, upon reboot (after selecting the old kernel) the machine apparently hangs after "loading initial ramdisk". If I boot (old kernel) in safemode, interspersed with the normal boot messages is, "nvidia: disagrees about version of symbol module_layout" I used zypper (almost blind, in amongst the scrolling nvidia messages) to attempt to remove the 13.1 kernel. This has not succeded, I *think* the error message from zypper is "lib/modules/3.16.6-2-desktop is inconsistent". I was unable to boot with the 3.16 kernel... Fortunately I have a separate /home partition :) and have now re-installed openSUSE 13.2 (suspend/resume problem still present). Sorry guys, but I'm going to have to leave this 'as is', at present this is the only machine I have and it's *essential* it works. I may be able to come back to it after the new year.
