/etc/resolv.conf is managed by netconfig. netconfig stores the md5sum of the file in /var/adm/netconfig/md5 to detect user modifications. /var is on a separate subvolume however, so when performing a rollback /etc/resolv.conf gets rolled back bug /var isn't. So the checksum may no longer match if resolv.conf changed between the target snapshot and the current system. netconfig would therefore install /etc/resolv.conf.netconfig after boot, causing DNS resolving problems.
