openSUSE Leap 15.0 will not install on a TUXEDO laptop:

The installer gets started but then the screen turns black with a blinking
cursor in the top left corner of the screen. The only way out is to switch of
the machine.


Hardware details:

LG 3840x2160 IPS-display
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 graphics card
Intel HD Graphics 630

In UEFI for the graphic-cards either "DISCRET" or "MSHYBRID" can be selected.

Use "SUSE Studio Imagewriter" to create an USB device for installation.

Set graphic-cards-option in UEFI to "MSHYBRID".

Boot from USB device with kernel parameters "acpi_os_name="Linux"
nouveau.modeset=0 3".


Result:

System boots up but after the installer gets started the screen turns black
with a blinking cursor in the top left corner of the screen. The only way out
is to switch of the machine.

The use of no or different kernel parameters (e.g. nomodeset) will cause the
boot process to fail even in an earlier stage.


Expected result:

The installer should start in text mode.
