1. How is it that this is a legal problem for openSUSE, but not for Linux Mint
and other Ubuntu derivatives where VLC works with (old) proprietary formats out
of the box?  Are you sure this is really a legal problem at this point?

2. If you really can't get full VLC functionality into the openSUSE repos, then
what is the point in having it there at all?  Most people use that application
precisely because other purist OSS media players will not work with (old)
proprietary formats.

3. Could the Videolan repo be added on install to eliminate this step for the
user?

4. Thanks for requesting the fix to the Videolan repository.  That should make
it consistent with the way Leap 42.1 works now, although not ideal if you're
interested in attracting users away from other distros where this isn't a
problem.
