You should get the same result if you are removing the complete <partitioning>
section. So YAST will generate a complete AY independent proposal which should
work.
If not, is a "normal" installation working ? If yes, please generate an AY
configuration file from the installed system with "yast clone_system" and try
an new installation with this configuration file again.
