This is from supportconfig run on an openSUSE 15.1 laptop installation.

I've this problem also on openSUSE 15.0 xen virtual servers.

But it is somehow related to the usage of the local DNS proxy server.

The hangs are only with a resolv.conf like:

nameserver 127.0.0.1
nameserver 9.9.9.9
nameserver 8.8.8.8

The hang always occurs with last server SERVFAIL lookup (here 8.8.8.8).

Without "nameserver 127.0.0.1" there is no problem.

Also there are no hangs with local dns at the end:

nameserver 9.9.9.9
nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 127.0.0.1

Not sure it the problem occurs because the local dns proxy has rare time outs.
But this shouldn't produce an endless hang in any case.
