Thanks for the hint. However, for me not being a LDAP specialist, the
documentation is pretty much to scarce. I used YaST to set up LDAP, and
obviously then the newer (more complicated) way of setting up the database is
used.

Is there any plan to fix this for existing databases on the fly? After all,
this is a simple, YaST-created setup I have used for quite some time now. I
think something like that should not break simply because a newer package
version is installed.

I could also live with some more elaboration on how to migrate the database
manually, however a simple "edit the file appropriately" or how it is put in
the thread you quote sounds too scary for me ;).
