Following this openSUSE Forums thread –

it seems that, removing the haveged package results in the systemd device
handling Virtual Memory random functions will complain and, as a result sets
the systemd system is-running status to “degraded” because, the systemd haveged
service is no longer available.

In addition, in that forums discussion a Forums member has provided the German
Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) analysis of the current status of
the Linux random number generator.
