openSUSE 13.2 will be released with Linux kernel version 3.16.6, which does not support the touchpad on my Lenovo Flex 14 laptop. The touchpad is recognised only as a PS/2 mouse(!) which makes it really painful to use. Support for this device, that is ALPS v7 touchpad, was only added to Kernel 3.17.0 by means of this commit: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=3808843cf10e4a696d942359d99822eff1a2de8e and subsequently improved by the commit: https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=f3f33c6776997db9d377ff3f1b759869f988d25e . It would be immensely beneficial for this support for the ALPS v7 touchpad to be backported to the openSUSE 13.2 kernel since many recent laptops (e.g. all Toshiba Z series laptops and many Lenovo Flex and Yoga series laptops) come with this touchpad, so it isn't some exotic device by any means. Also, I have actually updated to Kernel 3.17.1 from Kernel:Stable and actually verified that this touchpad actually works with that. Anything else I can do to help, I would be most happy to -- just let me know.
