But I am still looking for further solution approaches according to the
following information from a YaST2 error message for my software distribution
upgrade attempt.

Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: unpacking of archive failed on
file /var/mail: cpio: File from package already exists as a directory in system
error: filesystem-84.87-2.1.x86_64: install failed
error: filesystem-15.5-40.1.x86_64: erase skipped
