After digging a bit more, this seems to be an incompatibility between poetry
and packaging >= 21.0, see https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry/pull/4362,
https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry/pull/4748,
https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry/pull/4749 and
https://github.com/python-poetry/poetry/issues/4752 for more details.

The attached patch file seems to work as a stopgap. I've just sent the patch to
the project on OSB as well: https://build.opensuse.org/request/show/935641
