Consider vlc package with versions: 2.1.5-2.1.10-x86_64 2.1.5-235.1-x86_64 Yast does not detect there is an update and does not react to the command "update if newer version exists" because it thinks the first one (installed) is newer than the second (available). This leads to inconsistency because it is hard to automatically update software.
