I am working on updating HDF5 to version 1.12.1 from the currently packaged
1.10.x series. Since HDF5 is a dependency for many packages in Factory, I think
it would be useful to have this as a tracker bug for any issues arising out the
migration.

The update itself, while still keeping all applicable patches, is available
from my home project:
<https://build.opensuse.org/project/show/home:badshah400:hdf5>. I am also
testing how other packages (for now selected at random) fare against the
updated library.
