The /etc/dracut.conf.d/ dropins should not be necessary anymore, but I'm
missing access to hardware so I couldn't verify that.

I do not know about the tweaks for smsc95xx, even with appropriate hardware I
couldn't reproduce the issue reliably.

@mbrugger: Do you know whether any of those issues got fixed "properly"
meanwhile?

Those files could be moved into the raspberrypi-firmware package.
