Well, if "via network" means that you have a mysql database on the remote
server and want to retrieve data with LO locally, than true, no mysql driver is
required. I use such a configuration in the office on a daily basis; remote
server with mysql database, several local clients with LO6.2 accessing data on
the server. Even from home it works fine.
