Yes, konqueror seems okay with KHTML.  However, the patheos site uses "disqus"
comments, and "disqus" does not like KHTML.

I agree that it is probably webkit related.  The Gnome base webkit browsers
("epiphany" and "midori" seem okay).  And I should have mentioned that the
browser built into akregator also crashes.

I have plain "qupzilla" installed, rather than "qupzilla-qt5".

I can try using "gdb", but would need some guidance, particularly given your
comment that "gdb" is broken.  I do have "gdb" installed.
