I have a Western Digital My Passport USB 3 disk (WDC WD10JMVW-11S5XS0) that
used to work fine in the past. I didn't connect it for a while, but in the last
two kernels the device does not work any more. There are errors reported by the
kernel that weren't reported before, and the disk seems unusable.
However SMART values do not indicate a problem with the disk.

Details:
First the messages from the past (Linux 4.4.70-18.9-default) when the device

The last version where the disk worked was 4.12.14-lp150.12.48-default.
