in Tumbleweed 20180529 the file /etc/issue is root readable only and is a link to /run/issue in all previous versions this was user readable and not a link contents of file is, Welcome to openSUSE Tumbleweed 20180529 - Kernel \r (\l). enp2s0: \4{enp2s0} \6{enp2s0} the output of this file is not normally seen by a user and only seen if terminal F1 is selected and possible during shut down
