https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478469 Summary: provide: opensuse.org/security Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: estellnb@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; Konqueror/3.5; Linux) KHTML/3.5.10 (like Gecko) (Debian) The Opensuse project should provide an own web site providing quick security advice. * best practices on what to do and on what not (do not type root password in user mode, no root login, ...) * advice on what people can do to harden their system (./ not in path, run cups in user mode, apparmor, ...) * what to do if you have become hacked: (reinstall, delete hidden files in home dir, use autopsy to trace a hacker) My computer has now become hacked multiple times, which has not just stalled me in continuing to contribute to the Opensuse project. I believe such a site would be a true win.
