Comment # 13 on bug 960392 from Jean-Daniel Dodin

I just tested a work around, given the problem looks related to nvidia driver.

I added "3" on the grub kernel option line, to boot as init 3

Then the computer boots (at least 4 times in a row without stopping)I can log
as root, and type "init 5" and get kde.

Hope it will continue at least like this :-)
