This is a problem trying to open the display. It appears to try Wayland first, but that fails. Forget that "reinstall the application" message - this is a bogus message by Qt that is grossly misleading; it's like "nuke your car and get a new one" if it stops running. Please check if you can run another Qt5 application like QDirStat on your setup; it might show the same symptoms. In that case, the update might have damaged something about your (Wayland-based?) graphical environment. It would be helpful to check which graphics system it uses, Wayland or X11, and to try the other one as well.
