I'll note that both the install DVD and the live rescue CD booted for me in
UEFI mode.  The iso images were written to a USB stick.  The images tested
were:
 openSUSE-Tumbleweed-DVD-x86_64-Snapshot20150811-Media.iso
 openSUSE-Tumbleweed-Rescue-CD-x86_64-Snapshot20150811-Media.iso

I successfully booted both on a Lenovo TS140 with secure-boot enabled.

The problem that you are seeing may be specific to your hardware.
