Not necessarily just a BTRFS bug, as I run MicroOS myself on different kind of real hardware and in VMs, and I don't see the problem. But maybe something that manifests when BTRFS (or some other block-related kernel component, or whatever) works in combination with whatever else is involved in your configuration. I think a way to test this would be to rollback the guest, if you still have the snapshots available, to a month ago or in general to a previous state wrt when the problems started to show up, but I'm curious to hear what Ma Lin thinks about this... It may also be useful to start to bring in some block and/or filesystem people, to see if they have ideas about how to proceed further.
