It contains a lot of pretty > new patches. Yes, it's safe, it's just a build from the latest git with the patch. The patch was merged to openSUSE-42.2 git branch, thus KOTD already contains it. So at best, try the latest kernel in OBS Kernel:openSUSE-42.2 repo, http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/openSUSE-42.2/standard/ If you can still reproduce the problem with it, please give the Oops messages again, at best, attach the output dmesg.
