Thanks a lot for your efforts and patience. I'm afraid the only thing you could still try is installing a firmware/BIOS update - if available. If not or it doesn't fix the issue, you would need to report the issue to Dell itself. :-( Closing as WONTFIX - should better be called CANTFIX ...
