Execution of a zypper search resulted in a stuck zypper process which could not
be stopped via ^C or ^Z. One CPU was shown by htop at 100% load, but no zypper
in the process list. No significant swap use was shown. The system has 15.3GB
RAM and 15.3GB swap, which is also used for hibernation.
The evening before I executed a large "tar xzf" from a sshfs mount to local
disk and the system kept running through the night.
Resolution required a reboot. The system has been updated with 'zypper up'
yesterday.
