We (i.e. SUSE/openSUSE) do not develop sane-backends.

Please report upstream issues directly to the SANE project at

that it should work for your particular scanner model
but it does not work for you with the currently
latest "sane-backends" version that is officially released
by the SANE project, then it is recommended to report the issue
directly to the driver authors at the SANE project

so that there is a direct communication between you
and the upstream authors.

so that the upstream authors plus interested users can notice
the issue, see
