Additional Info: Other distributions had this problem in the past as well, it seems to be a problem with ImageMagic (on i586?) and not Calibre: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=172271 I tried to validate my ImageMagic installation as mentioned on the ImageMagic website (http://www.imagemagick.org/script/binary-releases.php) and I got: thomas@linux-bq64:~> convert logo: logo.gif illegal instruction ImageMagick 6.8.9.8-4.1 from Productivity/Graphics/Other
