Comment # 1 on bug 1003634 from Roman Evstifeev

Oh, the bug appears if i associate the .desktop file type in the kde settings
to open with xdg-open. Apparently that leads to infinite loop of xdg-open
processes. Please close this issue. It should probably be addressed upstream.
