Hi Friedrich, The packaging is according to openSUSE guidelines. See also: https://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Packaging_guidelines#Static_Libraries So libVc.a should be in Vc-devel-static and Buildrequire: Vc-devel-static is therefore needed in the spec file. The dependence of Vc-devel-static to Vc-devel was added just for convenience. Usually both build requirements to foo-devel-static and foo-devel are needed for similar cases.
