Sorry, comment 6 was sent incomplete by mistake. Going on... The 3D accelerated virtual card is working fine with other applications and with the Plasma compositor as well. Last time I tried Blender, in November 2015, same box, older Tumbleweed, it was working file. Sending the strace output in attachment. Thanks.
