On openSUSE with KDE, gitg did not display any commit information, the corresponding part of the application window remained empty. On the shell, the message ** (gitg:<PID>): WARNING **: gitg-plugins-engine.vala:40: Could not load repository: Typelib file for namespace 'Peas', version '1.0' not found was printed. Installing the package typelib-1_0-PeasGtk-1_0 fixed the problem so I assume a missing dependency.
