I downloaded fetchmail from the
ftp5.gwdg.de/pub/opensuse/update/leap/15.2/oss/x86_64 mirror. Please find the
sha1sum attached for your reference:

did you check _before_ installation of fetchmail whether or not the group
"fetchmail" is included in /etc/group? I guess you did but wanted to ask just
to make sure ....
Is there an option to add more verbosity to rpm that (might ...) help you track
down what is ongoing?
