Josef, I guess that fix could be quite easy (well, depends). We could also fix
this with a MU if needed. Ruby exceptions are not nice, but this one is close
to cutting a branch that you are sitting at anyway ;)

Is there a scenario where it's a wanted state to live without
/etc/default/grub? Is that some kind of a feature, or is it just a theoretical
state of the system?
